The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 5/17:
Emma Caton '28 - Softball - Emma has been a solid player all season for the Devils. At third base, she had just 2 errors in 22 chances. Emma has had clutch hitting in the last few weeks of the season, earning 4 walks and getting 6 hits in the last 5 games. She also had a big 2 RBI single vs an undefeated Episcopal team in early May to secure the win! Way to finish the season strong, Emma!
Frankie Decembrino '26 - Baseball - Frankie went 3 for 6 in our two games last week vs Perkiomen and Haverford. He has stepped up as a leader on and off the field this season, bringing energy, focus, and a relentless drive for the group. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next year!
Josh Miller '25 and Ethan Eckert '25 - Tennis - Since joining together as the 1st doubles team, their energy and skills have earned them many wins! Just last week, the boys took out the Malvern first doubles pair in straight sets. SCH tennis is going to miss both of these wonderful student-athletes next year. Thank you for everything, boys!
Sebastian Small '26 - Lacrosse - Sebastian scored 3 of the team’s 5 goals in last week’s PAISAA contest vs Hill School. He consistently gives his all in games and practice and has emerged as a leader for the Devils. Sebastian brings intensity and energy to everything he does, and we are excited for his success in his senior season next year! Way to go, Sebastian!
Girls Freshman Quad - Crew - 9th graders Alice Greenleaf, Charlotte Harris, Birdie McNichols, and Cori Gutgesell worked hard and came together for a great race at the Stotesbury Regatta last Friday! They placed 4th out of 13 boats, and we are so proud of their progress this season. Good luck at Scholastic Nationals this weekend and keep working hard, girls!
Ryan Pownall '28 - Baseball - All season long, the coaching staff has stressed the importance of pounding the strike zone and trusting the defense. Well, that's exactly what "Ry-Po" did last Monday against Episcopal! He pitched 6 innings in relief, allowed 6 hits, 1 earned run, and didn't walk a single batter. Ryan threw 69 pitches, 49 of which were strikes. The future is bright for this multifaceted freshman!
