The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 3/29:
Sami Snyder '27 – Softball - Through the first 5 games of the season, Sami is 5-0 and a dominating force on the mound, striking out 63 and walking just 5 batters. She pitched a perfect game (not allowing a single batter to reach first base) vs Portsmouth during spring break in Tennessee, and she is also a solid contributor to the offense, batting .417, tallying 7 hits and a home run! Keep it up, Sami!
Nolan McShane '25 - Baseball - Nolan threw a complete game shutout (5k's and 3H) in the baseball team's victory against Trinity-Pawling School during spring break. Nolan's passion and leadership were instrumental in the team's success in Florida, and we look forward to his continued intensity this season!
Jolie Kaoma '25 - Track & Field - Jolie, a team captain, stepped up at our first meet of the season (The Upper Darby Relays)! She waited to start her spring break just so she could help lead a DMR (distance medley relay) team with three of her 9th-grade teammates. As a team, they were competitive and the race was fun to watch! Great job, Jolie! Thank you for being a role model and showing our younger athletes how to be a good teammate!
Drew Sharon '25 - Tennis - Drew played a great match against Germantown Friends School prior to spring break, handily beating their player in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, with strong and assertive play. We are excited to see what the season brings! Congratulations Drew!
Matt McTamney '25 - Track & Field - Matt demonstrated great leadership at our first meet of the season (The Upper Darby Relays)! Matt took one of his 9th-grade teammates (Kevin Andrews) under his wing at the meet, warming up with him, providing advice based on his experience, and supporting him when it was his turn to throw. Great job, Matt! Thank you for being a role model and showing our younger athletes how to be a good teammate!
Dylan Gary '28 - Baseball - Dylan swung a hot bat in the Sunshine State from the 5 hole. He executed our big part of the field approach to perfection! More importantly, he displayed his leadership skills, both on and off the field. The future is bright for #2!
Sam Harris '25 - Tennis - Sam and his partner Regan Lytle lost a tough match to GA recently, 0-6, 7-5, 10-8 in a tiebreaker. Winning is good, but it is more important how you compete! Sam’s energy and attitude on the court are exemplary. He never gives up and has shown what it means to be athlete of the week. Way to go, Sam!
