The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 2/8:
Nasir Howard '28 - Basketball - Freshman guard Nasir Howard put together a week for the history books with massive performances against PC and Episcopal. On Tuesday at Penn Charter, he poured in a career-high 32 points as well as 6 rebounds and 5 assists. He then followed that up on Friday with a 25-point, 7-rebound, 7-assist, and 4-steal effort in a victory over EA. Nas has an incredibly bright future ahead of him and is a player to watch for in the coming seasons at the Varsity level.
Bella Tinneny '28 - Indoor Track - This past weekend at the final regular season indoor track meet, Bella placed 5th in the 800m and earned a medal [9th-12th graders]! Earlier this season, Bella also placed 3rd in the 800m event at a novice meet for freshmen. Bella has been recognized many times by her coaches and always for the same things: performance at meets, grit, and a never-give-up attitude. This indoor season she has competed in the most meets for our girls team, including a meet at the Ocean Breeze complex in Staten Island, NY. Congratulations Bella! Thank you for always giving our sport your best effort!
Jadon Hall '28 - Basketball - Jadon has been a vocal leader in practice and during 3rd team games, always lifting up his teammates when they are discouraged. He hustles on defense and makes great plays daily, and he has made a huge difference for the team in close battles this season. Way to go, Jadon!
Maisie Hayne '29 - Squash - Maisie went 2-1 throughout the entire MS National tournament last weekend. Her first match against Sacred Heart Greenwich was very impressive, as she had a dominating performance against her opponent. Her high energy and relentless pressure made it hard for her opponent to do much against her. Keep working hard, Maisie!
Tristan Dequesne '31 - Squash - Tristan went 2-0 at MS Nationals and won both of his matches 3-1! Even though he got to a slower start in his first game, he rallied hard in the last 2 games to close out his matches. We were impressed with how he dug deep and got the job done during the tough moments at Nationals! Way to go Tristan!
Khai Hendricks '31 - Wrestling - Khai went 2-2 at InterAc champs this week, finishing in 4th place! He did a great job throughout the season, and he always provided positive support for his teammates. We look forward to Khai’s future with the Blue Devil wrestling program!
