The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 2/3:
Helena Fournaris '24 - Squash - Helena faced a tough opponent in last week’s match with Penn Charter at the #3 spot, and came up with a great 3-1 win. Helena fights for every point and pushes herself to be the best she can be every day. We wish her all the best in her playing career at Denison University next year!
Stew Greenleaf '26 - Basketball - Since returning from an early season hand injury, Stew has emerged as a key factor for the 20-1 JV Devils. He is starting every game in league play and is leading the team in rebounding. The 6’5” sophomore figures to be a big contributor to the program moving forward.
Sammi Acuna '26 - Basketball - As a second-year guard, Sammi has grown as a playmaker and defender. In a recent varsity contest against Lawrenceville, Sammi's active hands generated 4 steals and several deflections. On the offensive end, she knocked down two crucial 3-pointers that helped the Blue Devils secure the win at home!
Joe Ferguson '28 - Basketball - Joe has been wonderful to coach and helped lead our team to 3-0 record last week and to an overall record of 7-2. His leadership and coachability have been an integral part of our team's success. Thank you, Joe!
Caroline Varga '29 - Basketball - Caroline has been a vital part of the JV Gold squad this season. She has had to change game positions due to teammate injuries, but that hasn't stopped Caroline! Through her leadership on offense and defense, she has kept our team upbeat and always moving together as a cohesive unit. Way to go, Caroline!
Finn Chandler '28 - Squash - Finn helped SCH to the big DIII first place at MS Nationals, finishing 3-2 last weekend vs Vicmead/THS in the finals! The team’s victory came down to Finn’s match and he fought for the W, securing the overall championship for the Blue Devils. Amazing job, Finn and team!
