Athletes of the Week Ending 11.9

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 11/9:

Leah Thomas '26- Tennis - Leah was named the 2024 Inter-Ac MVP, was the league singles champion, and was undefeated this year. To give an idea of her dominance this fall, in 16 matches played plus the singles tournament, Leah only lost a total of 32 games. She won every match played in straight sets and calmly navigated through all of the top players on every team we played. Congratulations on an incredible season Leah!

Ryleigh Bakley '27 - Soccer - Ryleigh was recently named the 2024 Inter-Ac MVP, a very prestigious honor as it is voted on by every soccer head coach from each of the teams. She tallied 5 goals, 6 assists, played in all 20 games, and started 19. She is unstoppable in the midfield, and is constantly creating incredible plays with her excellent soccer IQ and ability. Ryleigh has a tremendous work ethic, leads by example, and when she speaks, everyone listens. We are so proud of you, Ryleigh!

Will Howard '28 - Football - In the last JV game vs Episcopal, Will scored both of our touchdowns; one was an exciting kickoff return and the other was a hard-nosed run. He has put in the work all season and improved significantly as evidenced by his contributions in the last two varsity games. Will has a bright future and will be a key varsity player next fall. This is what being a JV player is all about: working hard to improve and preparing for the next level. Great job Will!

Parker Purcell '29 - Football - Parker scored a touchdown in our varsity game vs Malvern last week and has played very well at lineback and cornerback on defense. We are looking forward to seeing him succeed in upper school next year! Way to go, Parker!

Campbell Goodwin '30 - Soccer - Campbell set the tempo of the MS varsity games by dictating control of the midfield. He skillfully shut down opposing drives, aggressively won loose balls, and passed or shot as if he had eyes in the back of his head. Opponents underestimated Campbell at their own risk! Great season, Campbell!
