The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 10/26:
Nadia Gross '26 - Field Hockey - Nadia, a Columbia University commit, started and played in every game for the Blue Devils this season. She not only leads our backfield and commands the defense, but has also contributed to our offensive attack in the second half of the season. Last week, she scored a great goal against visiting Saint Stephen's Episcopal School (TX), helping the Devils solidify the victory. Way to go, Nadia!
Joseph Trotter '25 - Cross Country - This past Saturday during the PAISAA meet at Belmont Plateau, Joseph showed exactly why he was selected as one of our team captains and why he earned the team’s Heart of a Champion award. Joseph ran his best race of the season breaking the 20-minute mark for the first time (19:44.9)! It was awesome to see Joseph improve throughout the season; he cut 2 minutes and 53 seconds off his time. Great job Joseph!
Georgia O'Connor '25 & Tiara Williams-Mears '25 - Tennis - As doubles partners for most of the season, this duo has been the picture of consistency and finding ways to win. Playing a tiebreaker in just about every match, their styles complement each other, and they have been victorious in most of their matches in the 4th doubles position. Against GA on Senior Day, they once again put together a solid showing and won their match to clinch the SCH win, beating their opponents in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (8). Congratulations Tiara and Georgia!
Manny Silva '27 - Football - Manny played a significant role on both offense and defense in our 20-6 JV victory over Haverford. On offense, he had a few key pass receptions and on defense contributed several tackles and pass breakups. He has been working hard all season and his performance on Monday was a product of those efforts!
Marin Toconita '30 - Soccer - Marin was a fantastic addition to our varsity MSG soccer team this year. Every day we could rely on Marin to show up to practice ready to work hard and stay focused. Marin is the kind of player who gives her very best in everything she does, regardless of whether it's a regular day at practice or the last minute of a tight game. Her quiet confidence, unwavering toughness, and positive attitude set a wonderful example for everyone around her and show that you don't have to be the loudest on the team to be a leader. Thanks for an awesome season, Marin!
Skylar Bayonne '30 - Volleyball - Skylar has been a solid player for the MS varsity squad this season. She had very consistent serving and defense for the Devils, including a game vs TPS where she served 6 aces in a row! We know we can count on Skylar to put in her best effort every day and her determination has helped the team win games! Go, Skylar!
Ava Raby '30 - Volleyball - Ava has been an incredible team player for the MS JV volleyball team, always bringing her positive attitude, consistent effort, and unwavering dedication to advancing her skills on the court. Her contributions and incredible sportsmanship helped the team secure an undefeated season. Amazing work, Ava!
