Read M. Goodwin '93

Read was a four-year letterman in soccer, basketball, and baseball and was the recipient of the J. L. Patterson Cup for the Most Outstanding Athlete in the senior class. Read was captain of the soccer and basketball teams his senior year and played on five Inter-Ac championship teams. In soccer, Read led the 1992 soccer team to #1 Ranking in Southeastern Pennsylvania as his team achieved perfection, 10-0 in Inter-Ac play. Read played four years of varsity soccer at the University of Pennsylvania and captained the team both his junior and senior years. He was selected All-Ivy and All-Academic Ivy and was named to the 1990-99 All-Decade Team at Penn. Read was recognized as the MVP of his team his junior and senior year and finished his career with two school records: most minutes played in a career and most consecutive starts.
