Patricia Kenworthy Nuckols '39

Patricia Kenworthy Nuckols played varsity field hockey and lacrosse for four years at Springside, was captain of the Philadelphia All-Scholastic hockey team, played on the Philadelphia All-Scholastic lacrosse team, and was athletic editor of the yearbook. After graduation, Pat attended secretarial school and Peirce Business School in Philadelphia. She also pursued her interest in athletics by playing on both the U.S. Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams throughout the 1940s. In 1987, Pat was inducted into the U.S. Field Hockey Hall of Fame housed at Ursinus College. For the past 30 years, Pat has been a ski instructor in Vermont and was voted one of the top 100 ski teachers in the country. Over 80 years old, she also heli skis and plays on a women’s ice hockey team, called the “Rusty Blades,” with teammates half her age. She has also played golf since 1946 and was the three-time champion at the Ekwanok Golf Club in Manchester, Vermont. To top it off, she lists horseback riding as her true passion since she was a child.
