Michael P. Koplove '95

Mike was a two-time All-Inter-Ac pitcher and was voted First Team All-City as a senior as well as being named to the 30 Year All-Inter-Ac All-Star Team. In 1998, Mike helped lead the University of Delaware to the America East Conference baseball championship and was then drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 29th round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft. He was a member of the Diamondbacks 2001 World Series championship team and the following year was named the team's Rookie of the Year. Mike won another championship ring as a member of the Triple-A World Series champion Tucson Sidewinders in 2006. In 2008, Mike was named to the United States Olympic baseball team. Mike earned a bronze medal in Beijing and was the only American pitcher to not give up a hit, pitching 5 1/3 scoreless innings in four appearances, striking out six batters.
