Hope Knowles Rawls '36

Hope was an extraordinary athlete and was the singles and doubles champion of Pennsylvania and singles champion of Connecticut in tennis; at one point she was ranked the 7th best tennis player in the country. In squash, her other primary sport, she worked to become the National Women’s Doubles and Atlantic Coast Singles Champion. Later in life, she returned to Springside School to become a gym teacher in the Lower School. Rawls was chosen to be the first inductee into Springside School’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
