In celebration of the 20th anniversary of our engineering & robotics program, we are highlighting some of our alumni who are at various points in their careers, from working in nuclear engineering labs to working on the ocean floor.
On Robotics
“My participation in the SCH robotics program was an important part of my high school experience because I connected with great friends, learned about technology I hadn't known existed, and by participating I was able to diversify my interests. I was the first young woman to serve as co-captain of the team and it was so rewarding to see the number of girls participating on the team grow by the time I graduated.”
On Transferable Skills
Robotics taught me: “Communication skills. Learned how to use power tools. Courage to try something new. Public speaking. Confidence in speaking and working with new people. The value of having a range of interests. The importance of listening and learning.”
Rose, pictured above, middle, returned to SCH in 2023 to speak with students. Read about her visit here.
