We’ve been watching...We’ve been waiting...We’ve been rooting...And now…we can share! Who’s on fire this Friday as THE WINNER of NBC’s hottest obstacle course race? American Ninja Warrior Jr.! Our very own Jackson Erdos, an SCH freshman, races to the finish! Erdos lit up the course in L.A., beating out 31 other contestants—and thousands who applied for a chance to compete—during the 14-episode series that dropped on NBC’s Peacock streaming service yesterday. Training 20-25 hours a week, Erdos has been working up to this pinnacle moment in time since he first started rock climbing at age 7. As Season 3 winner, he not only takes home the glory and our collective adulation, but prize money of $15,000 and the opportunity to compete in the adult Ninja Warrior competition in the spring. Jackson: your epic passion, mental toughness, and physical prowess were stunning to witness! We are #SCHProud of this athlete extraordinaire.

Our 2021-22 social media campaign, Fired Up Fridays, pays tribute to the message engraved in the stone mantelpiece above the fireplace in the Henry Library that reads: “Kyndle yr awne ffyre” (Kindle Your Own Fire). Each Friday we will shine a light on members of the school community whose passion runs deep for a particular interest, activity, class, or hobby. #FiredUpFridays posts on Insta and Facebook, so be sure to follow along!
