History Teacher Runs Olympic Marathon Qualifier
History Teacher Siobhan O'Connor competed in the US Olympic Marathon Qualifier in Atlanta.
Siobhan O'Connor ran a 2:46.38 to cross the finish line in 149th out of 390 runners. She averaged 6.22 minutes per mile. The course in Atlanta was described as a "brutal, hillly course" and was run on a windy and chilly day with 20 mph gusts. 511 women qualified for the race. The top three finishers qualified for the Olympic games to represent USA in Tokyo.
Congratulations to Siobhan who juggles her teaching position here at SCH and fits in time to train. Her best marathon time is a 2:43.39. She runs with the Ritual Running club and is sponsored by Oiselle.
