Varsity football victorious in season opener

Varsity football opened the season last Saturday with a convincing 38-14 home victory vs Cheltenham High School. Starting quarterback Aidan Dooley '22 was 20-26 for 340 yards and 4 touchdowns, while wide receiver Ivan Thorpe '22 led the offense with 10 catches for 183 yards and 1 touchdown. Darrion Rascoe '23 led the offense line, who together blocked for 450 total yards gained and 38 points scored. 


On the defensive line, Rascoe had 3 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and a sack. At defensive back, Tommy Shelinsky '22 had 2 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass break up, and 2 interceptions! Finally, in his first-ever football game, Kicker Ryan White '23 was a perfect 4-4 for PATs, and converted on a 24-yard field goal. Ryan is also a starter on the varsity soccer squad.
Next game is Saturday at Pope John Paul II at 1 PM.
