Softball defeats PC in semi-final round

In an exciting game which saw SCH go up by 2 runs, only to have PC tie, then, later  go ahead by a 5-3 score after 6 innings - saw the Devils score 3 runs in the 7th to ultimately win the game 6-5.

In the 7th, Emma Blaszczak, doubled, Kamaha'o Bode singled, Sam Klug hit a single which scored Blaszczak to make it 5-4 PC.  Trinity Smith hit another single, Marissa Wolff singled which scored Bode to tie the game 5-5. Darby Casey squeezed a bunt which pushed Klug across for a 6-5 SCH lead which remained after the Devils shut down PC in their final at bat.

Wolff finished with 3 hits and 1 RBI, Courtney Oliver, Bode, Klug, Smith, Blaszczak and Casey all had 2 hits on the day. Klug led the team with 3 RBIs as well as doing a fantastic job pitching.

Unfortunately, the Blue Devils ran into a hot Baldwin team and lost 1-9 in the final on Saturday. Baldwin, the #4 seed had upset the #1 seed Episcopal 6-4 to get to the final. The Blue Devils had split with Baldwin in the regular season.
