Two Indoor Track Athletes SCHine!

SCH boys and girls track posts some great wins with the recent successes of senior Henry Brandstadter and junior Simone Kelly.

Brandstadter has had an excellent indoor season thus far for the Blue Devils! In the first two meets of the season, he took first in the high jump (6'4") and long jump (21'7.5"), and went on to win the high jump with a 6'6" leap at the Burdette Indoor Classic as well as a third-place finish in the 200m (23.35). He holds an impressive personal best of 6'7" in the high jump! Henry was first in both the high jump (6'4") and had a PR long jump (22'1) at the New Balance Games in NYC last weekend, and is now qualified for the PA Meet of Champions, PA State Championships, and Nationals!

Kelly has been a great addition to the SCH girls’ track team this year! In her first meet in an SCH uniform, she finished 1st in the 400m at the DVGTCA meet with a time of 1:00.87. This past weekend at the New Balance Games in NYC, Simone was entered into the 500m invitational and finished 5th with a time of 1:21.70, which was a PR and recognized her as a New Balance Rising Star. Simone also finished 9th in the varsity seeded section of the 300m. Currently, Simone Kelly is ranked 14th in the state in the 400m and 15th in the 200m.

Good luck to both Henry and Simone in the rest of their competitions this season!
