The boys’ and girls’ crew teams competed last weekend at the Stotesbury Regatta, the largest high school regatta in the county. The races began on Friday, and SCH Blue Devils fared very well, with almost every boat making it to the semi-final races. Due to the storms on Friday night, some of the categories were canceled for Saturday morning, much to the team’s dismay. The senior semis were added back into the race later in the afternoon, thankfully, resulting in the Senior Boys’ Quad and Freshman Girls’ Quad advancing to Finals and earning bronze medals!
The crew teams raced in City Championships on Sunday, rescheduled from a few weeks ago due to weather conditions. The team raced incredibly well and had amazing results! Congratulations to our GOLD medal winners: Varsity Light Boys’ Quad (S. Meyer, E. Eckert, M. Leon-Palfrey, L. Belmonte) and the Novice Girls’ Quad (A. Chavez, A. Olagunju-McWilliams, J. Wingard, M. Percy); SILVER medal winners: Freshman Girls’ Quad (C.Keough, E. Schwartz, E. Ludwikowski, N. Stockman) and Novice Girls’ Double (E. Eisenman, M. O’Connor); and BRONZE medal winners: Varsity Boys’ Quad (A. Topping, J. Stephenson, J.Halfpenny, C. Miles)!
We are so proud of all the rowers that competed all weekend long, and we wish the best of luck to the Boys’ Varsity Quad, Boys’ Light Quad, Girls’ Varsity Quad, Girls’ JV Double, and Girls’ Freshman Quad who will be competing at SRAA Nationals on Friday and Saturday this weekend! Go Blue Devils!
