SCH is pleased to announce that Bartley Jeannoute has been hired as the head girls basketball coach after a national search that included a very diverse applicant pool. Bartley is no stranger to the SCH community, as he was a former assistant basketball coach under Jamie Chadwin’s leadership from 2014-2016. Since then, he has gained invaluable coaching experience at Abington Friends School and The Philadelphia School, where he was also the Director of Athletics. Bartley also has extensive experience directing basketball camp programs and plans to hold clinics and camps for our youngest to oldest students.
In addition to being a basketball coach, Bartley is an excellent educator. He holds a B.S. in education from Temple University and a Master of Science in education in the School Leadership Program from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a dean, English teacher, and diversity clerk at Abington Friends and holds teaching certifications in AP Language and Composition.
During the selection process with the hiring committee, Bartley distinguished himself from the other candidates by conveying an inclusive plan to build a winning culture through relationships and preparation. Throughout the entire process, the committee was impressed with Bartley’s philosophy, basketball IQ, and obvious passion to grow our young program.
“I'm excited to be welcomed back into a community that helped launch my career as a basketball coach. While this feels like a homecoming, I look forward to new opportunities, challenges, and experiences with the SCH girls basketball team. Thank you in advance to the SCH Athletic Department, our talented student-athletes, and families for your support and partnership. Once a Blue Devil, always a Blue Devil!”
We are thrilled to welcome Bartley back to the SCH community and are excited for the future of the girls' basketball program!
