On a warm Thursday afternoon, the Hillers came out on top of a 3-2 contest with Germantown Academy. After a scoreless first half, SCH put three shots into the back of the net in the second half. Colin Woehlcke scored first for the Blue Devils while Connor Koschineg scored the team's second goal. GA hung tough as they came back to add one of their own.
Casey Baker scored the eventual game winner on a breakaway. The host Patriots would score another one to keep it close. Coach Zalasky called it, "a solid win against a very strong GA team."
On Saturday at the Ukrainian Nationals Soccer Club, as home team, the Blue Devils defeated Penn Charter 5-0. Daniel Heep had a huge night, scoring 3 goals. Woehlcke and Baker scored the other two goals. Koschineg, Ryan White, and Ben Hayes added assists. Zalasky called the shut-out an incredible team effort and a higher level of performance.
Before the game, Coach Zalasky and the athletic department recognized and celebrated the team's four seniors, Connor Koschineg, Joe Falcone, Ben Hayes, and Christian Vetter, with a framed action photo and flowers. Thank you for your efforts—you will all be missed next year!
The Blue Devils are 3-0 on the season and the JV team is 1-1.
