Athletes of the Week Ending October 25

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending October 25:

Leah Thomas '26 - Tennis -  This past Saturday, Leah won the 2025 Inter-Ac Girls Tennis Singles tournament, defending her title from 2024. Leah dominated her competition, losing only 7 games in her 4 tournament matches played. Leah continues to impress with her steady and assertive play, proving to the rest of the league that she is the top player. Congrats, Leah!

Finn Cooper '26 - Golf - Finn finished tied for 9th in the PAISAA Championship at Radley Run Country Club with a score of 78 and leading the Devils. This was his best performance of the year, and it helped the team finish 5th out of 14 teams, among some very strong competition. Good luck in your future endeavors, Finn!

Melia Echewa '28 - Cross Country - Melia delivered a breakout performance at the PAISAA State Championships this past Saturday, cutting two full minutes off her previous time and demonstrating major growth in her racing. Her 22:49 finish was a new personal, season, and Belmont Plateau record. This race marked her strongest effort of the season and established her as a rising star in the girls XC program. Congratulations, Melia!

Larry Markey '29 - Football - Larry has been a leader and impact player all year for the JV football team. He has helped lead the team to 3 victories in a row with his physical play. Last week against Lawrenceville, he was next to unstoppable in the run game and had a long kickoff return for a touchdown. Larry has also been working very hard in practice on the scout team helping the varsity get ready every week, and he has a bright future ahead of him.

Amber Alston '28 - Volleyball - It was another display of excellence from Amber last week, as she not only continues to be a force during JV games, but she is also a leader at practice and off the court. Amber consistently asks for more responsibility and more opportunities, and responds to that by rising to the occasion. Her serving and defense have improved tremendously to go along with her very reliable offensive game. Great work, Amber!

Ollie Rabe '30 - Football - Ollie has been tremendous this season on both sides of the ball for the MS varsity team. He has scored a touchdown at running back in every game this year, and showcases a wide variety of talents, whether it's tough running between the tackles, breakaway speed on the outside, or making incredible contested catches for touchdowns against GA and PC. On defense, Ollie has been just as consistent at middle linebacker, leading our team in tackles. His enthusiastic leadership and commanding presence have been huge for the Blue Devils this year!

Marin Toconita '30 - Soccer - Marin has become a key factor on the varsity team as she has taken on the role of center defensive midfielder. She has been energetic and effective at stopping the opposing teams' offensive charges, and she makes smart passes out of the back and supports her teammates with confidence. Marin has been crucial on our counterattacks and isn't afraid to take shots when she gets the opportunity. Amazing job, Marin!

Zach Jones '30 - Football - Zach is having an incredible year and is playing a ton of football for the Devils, making major impacts on both the JV and varsity teams. The enthusiasm and work ethic that Zach brings daily have set a fantastic example for our other athletes and has led to his success on the field. At defensive end, Zach has a motor that doesn't stop, and he has been a force disrupting passing lanes with his length. On offense, his sure hands and savvy route running have contributed to big-time plays. We are excited about his continued growth!
