The following students have been named Athletes of the Week, ending 9/30:
Tommy Markey ‘24 - Football - Tommy was 7-13 for 166 yards with two perfect touchdown throws in the 14-3 win over Lawrenceville. His leadership and toughness was a huge factor in our victory. These qualities are the reason he was voted team captain, and he has been an integral part of our 5-0 start to the year.
Nadia Gross ‘26 - Field Hockey - Nadia scored her first varsity goal in the victory over Penn Charter last week and also had two assists. She made the USA U16 selection camp recently and worked extremely hard over the summer to prepare for the fall season! Hard work definitely pays off! Keep it up, Nadia!
Lida Goloveyko ‘25 - Soccer - Lida scored the game-winning goal in both games last week (4-1 win over Germantown Academy and 3-0 win over Penn Charter). Lida's strength on the ball and danger around the box has been extremely consistent this year, resulting in scoring a goal in almost every game so far. Lida works hard in every game and practice and continues to push herself and get better each day.
Abby Torday ‘27 - Soccer - Abby is always ready to practice and play for the JV squad. She stepped out of her comfort zone when asked to move to center midfield, and did so with no hesitation even though she has always played defense. She is a strong player who scored an important goal this week vs Germantown Academy, the first of her high school career.
Nina Stanislaus ‘30 - Soccer - Despite being the smallest and youngest member of the varsity team, Nina Stanislaus has quickly showcased herself as one of the fastest, brightest, loudest, and most dedicated players. Nina has had many goals and assists this season, helping us to maintain an undefeated record. Her infectious enthusiasm and outgoing nature have not only elevated her own performance but also uplifted her teammates, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie!
Carter Graham ‘29 - Cross Country - Carter is new to SCH this year and has been an awesome addition to our team. He is super coachable and gets along well with all of his teammates and he is a fierce competitor on the course. He placed first in our meet against EA and third in our race against Haverford. Way to go, Carter!
