Athletes of the Week Ending 5/6

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 5/6:

The Girls Ltwt Quad - Crew - Alexandra Cross '24, Olivia Hayes '24, Emma Schwartz '25, and Dora Ward '24 had a great race at PSRA City Championships this past weekend, earning a silver medal! Way to go, girls! 

The 2nd Doubles Team - Tennis - Sam Miller '23 and David Xin '24 had an excellent week of Inter-Ac tennis, going 2-0 in their doubles matches against Episcopal and Malvern. Both players have been steady all season and consistently give their team a great chance to win. Together, they have gelled into a well-respected doubles team. We are proud of both of you! 

Emma Bradbury '23 - Lacrosse - Emma, a senior captain, and Michigan signee, had 2 goals, 1 assist, 6 draw controls, 3 caused turnovers, and 2 ground balls vs ranked Archbishop Carroll last Saturday. Earlier in the week in the teams’ 12-9 win over GA, she tallied 2 goals, 1 assist, 5 draw controls, 2 caused turnovers, and 1 ground ball. Emma leads by example, always giving 100% and helping her team get better every day. Thank you, Emma!  

Stokes Tate '26 - Baseball - Stokes recently had 2 perfect outings as a relief pitcher. On Tuesday, he entered as relief and threw 4 pitches while completing an inning. On Friday, he started the 5th inning and went for 3 innings, giving up no runs and facing the minimum. Keep up the great work, Stokes!

Kass Magarity '26 - Lacrosse - Kass has stepped into a significant role in the JV games, leading her team in point production all over the field. She is a positive teammate and shows excellent sportsmanship, two qualities that make her a pleasure to coach. Excellent job, Kass!

Lily McManus '28 - Lacrosse - Lily took on the challenging role of defensive backer in our zone defense and has executed it to perfection. Not only is Lily a core defender, but she also scored a key goal in our victory against GA. Lily also played a critical part in maintaining possession in our 7-6 victory over Agnes Irwin. Great job, Lily!

Brandon Varga '27 - Baseball - Brandon led the offensive charge in last Tuesday's 13-3 win over Episcopal. Brandon went 2-2 at the plate including a 2-run homer to center field. He also got on base via a walk and being hit by a pitch, resulting in 3 scored runs, and he also tallied 3 RBIs on the day. On the season, Brandon is hitting .364. Way to go, "B!"

Ellie Cavenagh '27 - Softball - Ellie has been a steady swing player for the JV and varsity teams this year. She has pitched and played the field for JV all season, and also helped secure wins for the varsity. Ellie has shown great improvement, is a supportive teammate, and always plays wherever she is needed, no questions asked. Way to be a team player, Ellie!
