Athletes of the Week ending 5/20

Faith Scally '23 - Softball - In the two games vs Baldwin and Hill School, Faith went 5 for 7 at the plate, with a double and scored 4 times!  She also played perfect defense at shortstop making all 9 plays, including turning an infield double play vs Hill School in the quarterfinals of the PAISAA tournament!

Jamie Neris '24 - Baseball - Jamie had a hot hand last week at the plate, averaging .444 (4/9) and driving in 5 RBIs in games vs Perkiomen and Penn Charter. He is a stalwart at 3rd and also sees time at 2nd and SS. He has been impressive with his solid defense, and we look forward to his success in the PAISAA tournament!

Cortney Neverosky '24 - Lacrosse - Cortney doesn’t need the limelight to shine, but her 110% gritty work ethic has an incredible ripple effect all over the field. She is one of the fastest players in the Inter-Ac and is consistently making an impact where her team needs her the most. Cortney tallied 10 points on the week with 10 draw controls, 7 ground balls, and multiple caused turnovers. We are so proud of our utility queen!

Ross Prince '24 - Lacrosse - Ross, a captain and Georgetown commit, has been a beast as the Devil’s face-off Specialist this year. In SCH’s first-ever appearance in the Inter-Ac Playoffs at West Chester University vs #1 seed Haverford he won 16 of 23 face-offs and racked up 14 ground balls. Great work, Ross!

The Girls Varsity Quad - Crew - Caitlin Keough '25, Madeline Percy '23, Ava Chavez '23 and Samantha Simon '23 had a great season for the Devils, racing in the top senior category. On Day 1 of the Stotesbury Regatta, the largest HS regatta in the world, the quad finished 5th in the time trials out of 19 boats to make it to the semifinals on Day 2. During the semis, the girls were edged out of finals by just 1 second, but we are so proud of the mental and physical toughness that they demonstrated all season. Way to go, girls!
