The following students have been recognized as Athletes of the Week ending 4/23:
Eli Eckert ‘23 and Matthew Leon-Palfrey ‘23 - Crew - Eli and Matthew had a great performance in the JV Double at the 5th and final Manny Flick last weekend. They took 1st out of 13 boats, racing the clock in a staggered start race (and they started last!). This was also their first race in the double, so this finish is extra impressive! Way to go, Eli and Matt!
Brady Greenberg ‘23 - Tennis - Brady went 3-0 last week against both Penn Charter and the Hill School, playing a variety of positions, from 4th doubles to 4th singles. Brady is a coachable utility player for the SCH Tennis squad; he can be placed into any position and will come out victorious! Brady is currently 8-1 for the season, posting the highest win percentage on the team. Great job, Brady!
Darby Casey ‘22 - Softball - A senior captain, Darby had a strong performance in 2 games last week. Against Baldwin, Darby had 2 hits, 2 RBI's and scored three times. She also had a pair of hits against Notre Dame and added a run and an RBI for the Blue Devils in the 8-0 win. She has an impressive .412 batting average for the season so far! Congrats Darby!
Julia Thomson ‘23 - Track and Field - Julia won the 400m last week at EA with a time of 1:03.9 and had a great race in her leg of the 4x400m relay and will be the leadoff runner at Penn Relays in the 4x400m race this week! Julia is a multi-sport, talented athlete with speed that translates well from the soccer pitch to the track! Good luck, Julia!
Alex Brown ‘26 - Baseball - Alex hit a home run and pitched 3 solid innings (60 pitches, 4 strikeouts) in a dramatic 7-6 home win over Penn Charter for the JV squad last Thursday. In 4 games this season, Alex is hitting .500 with 2 doubles, a triple, and the aforementioned home run. Amazing work, Alex!
Taylor Williams ‘28 - Softball - Taylor has been a hitting machine this season and had a huge home run in the game last week vs GA! She is also a great team player who is always eager to get to practice and gives 100% every day. Way to go, Taylor!
