Athletes of the Week Ending 4/20

The following students have been named Athlete of the Week ending 4/20:

Sammi Acuna '26 - Golf - Sammi led the team in scoring in 5 of 6 matches this season and is on track to qualify for league champs! Her calm, poised demeanor is an excellent quality to possess in the game of golf, and her consistency has been impressive. Keep up the good work, Sammi!

Claire Lynch '27 - Track & Field - Claire exudes great positive energy! She is always smiling and ready to lead our team cheer at the end of our practices. This past Saturday at the Great Valley Invitational, Claire won her 3200m heat. She wore out her closest opponent about halfway through the race by strategically keeping her on the outside around the turns. After that, it was all Claire to the finish line, and she PR'd by 12.5 seconds!

Connor Lauerman '25 - Track & Field - Connor is a great teammate during practice and at the meets! When he is not running in a distance event he is eager to help our sprinters as a starting block spotter. This past Saturday at the Great Valley Invitational, Connor improved his 3200m time by an incredible 17.5 seconds! Great job Connor, and a BIG thank you from your SCH Track family!

Sam Harris '25 & Antonin Zappala ‘24 - Tennis - When you see Nino & Sam on the court for the JV, they are opposites: Nino is relaxed and Sam is intense. In the match vs Malvern, they lost the 1st set 5-7, rallied back to win the 2nd set 6-0, and ended with a close tiebreak 8-10. When they play together they’re a dynamic duo and they never give up!

Jude Small '28 - Lacrosse - Jude has been a stellar long-stick defenseman for the MSB lacrosse team. He consistently shuts down some of the other teams’ best offensive players. Jude has been an asset all season, but his skills were on full display against Malvern Prep, where he helped us gain a tough win!

Gray David '28 - Softball - Gray has been an excellent vocal leader for the MS JV squad, leading the team cheer and giving great encouragement to their teammates. Gray also pitched in our first game and did not get rattled! Good job, Gray!

William Howard '28 - Track & Field - Will has performed consistently throughout the season and remains undefeated in the 100m and 200m events for the MS Blue Devils! Last week vs PC, Will again crossed the finish line first in both the 100m and 200m, running 11.8 and 23.7. He also finished 2nd in his season debut at the long jump with a leap of 18'7” and anchored the boys 4x100m relay. We can't wait to see him shine at Champs!
