The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Nov 5:
Rohan Shetty '23 - Soccer - Rohan is our athlete of the week for his stellar performances against EA, both in league play and in the PAISAA tournament. In his first league start, Rohan led the defensive line with confidence and courage. He made five saves and kept a clean sheet in the second half that allowed us to win the game 2-1. Rohan was up for even more heroics in the state tournament game later in the week where he maintained a clean sheet through overtime and then saved two penalty kicks in the penalty shootout, which we won 3-2 to advance to the Quarterfinals of the PAISAA tournament. Well done, Rohan!
Kira Vakil '25 - Field Hockey - Kira has been a key attacking performer for the varsity field hockey team this year. She scored a big goal toward the victory over GA in round one of the PAISAA tournament and has scored in multiple games this year, making her a consistent threat on offense. Kira is a great teammate and we are so glad she is at SCH! We are looking forward to her success in the coming years!
Darrion Rascoe '23 - Football - Darrion is a senior captain and a tremendous role model for the varsity squad this year. On the defensive line vs Penn Charter last Saturday, Darrion had seven tackles including one tackle for a loss. Overall in Inter-Ac play this year he has tallied an impressive 29 total tackles! Darrion was a 1st team All-League selection last season and we wish him the best of luck in the future!
Kamaha’o Bode '24 - Volleyball - Kama has been stellar as the varsity setter this season! Her quick movement on the court along with her innate athleticism and enthusiasm helped the team win points and build a spirited culture on the team. We can’t wait to see how she progresses and plays next season. Great work, Kama!
Asa Zimmerman '27 - Football - Asa had one rushing touchdown and three tackles for losses in the Devils’ big 39-6 victory over PC last week. Asa has been one of our most physical players all year, whether it’s a block or tackle he always wins that battle! He has been a force for the MS Varsity on both sides of the ball and we know he has a bright future ahead on the US team!
Emily Walder '29 - Soccer - Emily scored a goal in the 4-1 JV victory over The Philadelphia School last week! Emily is a hard worker who can play just about any position on the field, and she is always giving it her all! Way to go, Emily!
