Athletes of the Week Ending 11.2

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 11/2:

London Jackson ‘26 - Volleyball - London has been producing for the entire season and last week she kept at it. She brings a competitive edge to the court and can and will play any position. As a right-side hitter, London is always facing the highest-usage attacker and she steps up every time. She consistently produces on the court on offense, defense, and serve-receive when called upon. When she gets to the service line we know she is going to put our opponent in a bad spot. London performs every minute she is on the court!

JR Maher '26 - Soccer - JR has started 20 of the 21 games for the Hillers this season, all as an outside back on defense until last week when we shifted him into the center back position, which can be challenging for the most seasoned of players. JR, however, made the adjustment with aplomb, helping us navigate difficult games against EA and in our PAISAA game against The Hill School. JR's contributions throughout the season have been plentiful and we can't wait to see what he will add in his senior year.

Ella Thomson ‘27 - Soccer - Ella is the general of the backfield and has been nearly unstoppable on defense throughout the season. She helped shut out Notre Dame in our 3-0 conference-clinching victory, never letting the ball get past her to our goal. Ella’s work ethic is impressive and she gives our other defenders confidence as a quiet role model and leader. Finish these last games strong, Ella!

The Offensive Line - Football - The varsity offensive line has been the heart and soul of our team all season. They have cleared the path for an impressive season on the ground and provided great pass protection for explosive plays in the air. Their preparation since June has been impeccable and their knowledge of the blocking schemes and techniques needed to execute those plays is outstanding. Our success this season is due in large part to their efforts. Thank you Grayson Scott ‘25 LT, Jeff Carter ‘25 LG, Kyle Knox ‘26 C, Matt Mctamney ‘25 RG, and Kyle Cameron ‘26 RT.

Ryan Pearcy '28 - Soccer - Ryan has been a stalwart in goal for the JV squad this season. His game experience and training have paid dividends; over the last three games, Ryan, along with the help of those defenders in front of him, has had three straight shutouts. We look forward to his continued development over the next year! Well done, Ryan!

Ella Caione ‘30 - Soccer - Ella is a very good defensive player, and was the key center stopper position. She has excellent speed and determination to stop plays and she works hard every day. Ella is a good two-way player on offense and defense, and when she plays the attacking position she almost always scores. Keep it up, Ella!

Wesley Miller ‘31 - Soccer - Wesley shows his dedication to the MSB JV through his willingness to play multiple positions and be a team player. His passion and hard work throughout the season led to much success for himself and his teammates, as he always put everyone in the best position to succeed. Great work, Wesley!

Hudson DiRienzo ‘29 - Football - Hudson has been a steady presence on both sides of the ball for the MS varsity team. He has contained the edge as our defensive end and has been a threat downfield as our tight end. We wish him all the best in Upper School where we know he will shine!

Mason McFadden ‘31 - Football - Mason had an extraordinary game for the JV team against Germantown Academy where he racked up a record 5 touchdowns! We are so excited for Mason’s bright future with the Blue Devils. Way to go, Mason!
