Athletes of the Week Ending 10/29

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending October 29:

Tommy Andrews '23 - Football -  Tommy has been a very vocal and positive leader as captain all year. He has been a general on the defense, making the defensive calls on the field and getting the team mentally set with what to expect prior to the play. His work ethic is tremendous and we will miss him next year! Great work, Tommy!

Kaitlyn Melinson '23 - Field Hockey - Kaitlyn had a goal and assist in a very competitive EA game last Tuesday, two big goals in the victory over Agnes Irwin, and scored in the wins vs GA and PC the week before. She is consistently an offensive threat in the circle, and as a senior captain, she is an excellent leader and role model. Keep it up, Kaitlyn!

Hans Bode '23 - Cross Country - Hans led the team at PAISAA Championships with a personal best of 19:10 for the 5k course at Belmont Plateau. He was 37th out of 109 runners in a very competitive field. Hans is a hard worker and it showed in his results at meets as our number one runner. Wishing you the best in the future, Hans!

Ava Lanzetta '25 - Volleyball - Ava was a force on the court during three big matches last week. Behind Lanzetta's powerful performance, the Devils went 2-1 and won their first-ever PAISAA playoff match to move into the second round! Ava tacked on point after point with her powerful and accurate serving, and defensively she took control of the left side of the court, sweeping up anything that came her way. She led the team in kills, aces, and points from serves in all three matches last week and was third on the team in digs and defensive saves. Great performance, Ava!

Tobey Schwartz '27 - Golf - Tobey has worked hard on his golf game all year and was able to prove it in our last MS match as he shot the lowest score for our team! We look forward to his continued progress and success in future years on the golf team at SCH. Way to go, Tobey!

Lillian Maloney '27 - Soccer - Lillian is a focused and determined soccer player, and she is only in 6th grade! She shows up ready to play every day and is always determined to work hard and improve. Lillian has excellent skills and shows great sportsmanship. She has scored many goals and assists over the season and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. Awesome job, Lillian!
