Athletes of the Week Ending 10/28

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week, ending 10/28:

Riley O’Donnell ‘24 - Field Hockey - Riley, a Penn State commit for field hockey, scored the game-winning goal in OT against Mount St. Joe’s to lead the team to a 2-1 victory. She also scored in our close game against nationally-ranked Notre Dame. Her leadership and athleticism will be greatly missed next year!

Ryleigh Bakley ‘27 - Soccer - In the win vs PC last Tuesday, Ryleigh scored the team’s first goal and was a constant threat through the midfield the entire game. On Friday night under the lights vs EA, she took charge again and put the Devils on the board first, sparking the team with her energy and effort both offensively and defensively. Great work, Ryleigh!

Ella Brown ‘26 - Tennis -  Ella finished the season with an undefeated record in 2nd singles, which was not an easy task vs the very competitive Inter-Ac schedule! We are so proud of her hard work and determination, and can’t wait to see her continued success in the future!

Maddi Moynihan ‘28 - Volleyball - Last week Maddi helped power the volleyball team to their 2nd ever postseason win, leading the team in kills and serve-receive rating. She was a force on offense, but she also contributed a great deal on defense with great consistency on her passes. As an 8th grader playing on the US varsity, she has been a fantastic teammate and makes her presence known every day. Well done Maddi!

Josh Simmons ‘27 - Football - Josh had 2 interceptions on defense and over 100 yards rushing and a touchdown in last week’s JV victory over Germantown Academy. We are very excited about his unlimited potential in the years to come! Way to go, Josh!

Emma Schweizer ‘28 - Soccer - Emma has been such a great addition to our MSG soccer team and has quickly proven herself as a key asset on the field. She is competitive, driven, and makes the other players on the team better with her positive attitude. We wish you the best of luck in the rest of your soccer career in Upper School and beyond, Emma!

Weston Lanzetta ‘28 - Soccer - Weston is an exemplary teammate and a talented soccer player. He has been an unsung hero of our backline, contributing to numerous shutouts this season with his smart gameplay and ability to shut down any team's attack. He shows up to practice every day ready to work hard and stay focused. Weston does everything that is asked of him with a smile and without complaint. To top it off, he stepped in goal for our final game of the season and made some spectacular saves. Weston has been a positive, powerful presence on our team - thanks for an awesome season, Weston!

Rai Brown ‘28 - Volleyball - Rai has been an excellent member of the JV volleyball squad this year, and we can consistently count on her to work hard at every practice and in games. She is a supportive leader to the younger players and always has a positive attitude. Thank you, Rai!
