The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending October 22:
Faith S. '23 - Volleyball - In the homecoming game vs Notre Dame, Faith played an incredible match. Despite playing against an opponent much taller than her, Faith was a top scorer on the team that day. Her tenacity attacking the net was impressive, and she continually made plays, frustrating NDA with timely and aggressive attacks. On defense, she made great digs and flew all over the court, diving for balls to save points. Faith has an intensity that her teammates feed off of; she is tough, tenacious, and fun to watch play.
Grace Hannigan '23 - Cross Country - Grace is a captain and four-year varsity runner who is an excellent role model for her younger teammates. She has a great work ethic, as evidenced by her grit and resilience as she ran through a nagging injury last week at Inter-Ac Champs! Grace pushes herself and has achieved personal records throughout her career, and we will miss her tremendously next year!
Charlie McFadden '26 - Football - Charlie had one rushing touchdown and one passing touchdown and played very well at cornerback in the 29-28 JV victory over GA. He consistently works hard in practice, which pays off in his gameplay. Charlie has a bright future ahead with SCH football!
Lexi Jordan '24 - Tennis - Lexi has consistently shown leadership and dedication to the JV team this season in her role as our captain. She was always willing to help out when needed with whatever was asked. She had an outstanding season with a 6-2 winning record and her competitive spirit kicked in (along with her partner, Addison Rhodes), securing an exciting come-from-behind victory in a third-set tiebreaker over Notre Dame last Thursday! Way to go, Lexi!
Mateo Puntel '28 - Soccer - Mateo plays the midfield, and his dominant and relentless defensive pressure on the ball has been outstanding. His excellent play on both ends of the field has allowed the varsity squad to challenge and beat top opponents Malvern and Episcopal.
Lee McGarvey '29 - Volleyball - Lee always comes to practice ready to play and give their all. They work hard, try hard, and ask questions to become knowledgeable about the sport. Lee is a team player and helps to keep everyone unified and positive! Excellent work, Lee!
