The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 10/19:
Liam Zelman '26 - Football - Liam, the Devils’ starting quarterback, rushed 21 times for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns while also passing 8-14 for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. His physical running helped wear down GA in the second half as the Blue Devils took control of the game after a close 14-13 first half. Liam had a hand in all 5 touchdowns in our 36-20 victory. Amazing work, Liam!
Ava Lanzetta '25 - Volleyball - Ava has been one of the foundations of the volleyball program during her entire career and this year is no exception. She had another stellar week, leading the team in aces, assists, digs, and service points won. Ava is a setter, hitter, passer, and defender, and plays an integral role and delivers every single day for the Devils. Beyond her incredible production during games, Ava is a true leader and brings incredible energy to the team with her play and voice. We will miss her next year but wish her the best at Marist!
Ethan Eckert '25 - Golf - Ethan has consistently scored in the top 2 for SCH throughout the season and had the combined low score vs GA and Malvern. He has been a great role model for the younger golfers this season as a senior leader, and he has an excellent work ethic, putting in the effort to improve every day. In addition, Ethan’s work with the First Tee program was the catalyst in the creation of the Game Changers Invitational, raising money for the Wissahickon Scholar-Athlete Fund. Way to go, Ethan!
Bella Tinneny '28 - Cross Country - Bella has proven to be an outstanding teammate and freshman athlete this season. She has an unwavering commitment to her sport and dedication to our team while managing a persistent hip injury. Her effort for self-improvement is unmatched! Bella's positive spirit inspires every teammate to do her best, no matter the circumstance. Bella ran her Belmont season personal record at Inter-Ac Champs last week, finishing in 31st in the league.
Devon Donato '28 - Field Hockey - Devon started the fourth quarter against Penn Charter and really helped the Devils get the ball up the field to score 3 goals and secure the 3-0 victory. We love Devon's hustle and energy when she goes in off the bench and look forward to the next three years with her on the team! Keep on sparking the offense, Devon!
Oliver Eckert '29 - Golf - Ollie has been a top scorer for the MS varsity golf team throughout the season. He shot a 39 at Flourtown Country Club last week and helped secure the win for the Devils vs Devon Prep. Ollie leads the charge for our team at practices and matches and has been a great example for our younger, new golfers. We are proud of you, Ollie!
Jane Fuld '30 - Soccer - Jane has stepped up to the challenge of being a designated goalkeeper for the MS girls varsity soccer team this year. She has great instincts in the goal and she made some truly stellar saves in our game against EA. Her willingness to not only play goalkeeper but also play multiple other positions on the field has been a huge asset to our team. Jane shows up to practice every day ready to work hard and be a positive presence on our team. Great work, Jane!
