The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending 10/12:
Caitlin Keough '25 & Charlotte Trayes '26 - Crew - Caitlin and Charlotte won a gold medal in the women’s high school double at the Navy Day Regatta this past weekend among a field of 30 boats. Their consistent hard work in practice paid off with dominance in the race, finishing 15 seconds ahead of the second-place boat. The duo looks to charge ahead and will represent SCH at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston this Sunday. Good luck, girls!
Zarin DeVeaux '25 - Soccer - Zarin, a senior captain, leads by example. In moments that seem bleak, Zarin shows no signs of quitting and keeps the team energized. She is a dangerous scorer that the opposing teams can’t ignore and has tallied clutch goals all season. Zarin is a quality player, great teammate, and an even better person. Congrats Zarin!
Ariya Goswami '26 & Finley Redpath '26 - Tennis - Ariya and Finley were recently put together as a varsity doubles pairing and have won several matches together against top doubles teams. Last week, they took on a very good team from Agnes Irwin, and after winning the 1st set and losing a tough 2nd set, they were able to pull out the match with a 3rd set super breaker win. Congrats Ariya and Finley!
Sebastian Small '26- Golf - Sebastian has been the low scorer or best scorer for the JV squad the entire season. He stepped up again at Pickering Valley Golf Club last Monday, turning in the team's best score of the day. Keep it up, Sebastian!
Taylor Heery '27 - Volleyball - Taylor’s willingness to learn and play multiple positions, as a way to benefit the JV team has had a huge positive impact on our season. Combine that with her desire to improve, supported by her hard work at every practice, and that makes her more than deserving of this nomination. We are proud of you, Taylor!
Jack Mellor '30 - Soccer - It doesn’t matter that an opponent is twice his height or double his weight, Jack Mellor plays soccer with a skilled ferocity, field awareness, and dribbling touch that’s earned him Athlete of the Week! Way to go, Jack!
Sofia Talamo '31 - Field Hockey - As a 6th grader having never played goalie, Sofia has really stepped up to the challenge for the team this year! She has greatly improved over the past six weeks, and it has been fun to watch. Sofia is an unsung hero as a defender and goalkeeper, and we are so proud of her grace and determination. Great work, Sofia!
