Athletes of the Week 10/30

Athletes of the Week 10/30

Seven athletes are recognized as Athletes of the Week for the week ending 10/30:

Macy Moderski '25 - Varsity Volleyball - As the setter, Macy is responsible for keeping the offense running in any situation. In the last few games, Macy was an unstoppable force reading the distribution of our offense. Time and time again, she made incredible plays to get our attackers the ball when it appeared there would be no attempt at an attack. Her hard work and dedication on the court is truly a sight to see. Macy’s focus and tireless energy continues to keep our athletes engaged and in the action. Way to go, Macy!

Jarrett Whaley '25 & Joey Trotter '25 - Cross Country- Jarrett and Joey tied for 4th place at the PAISAA Cross Country 3k freshman Championship Race, held at Belmont Plateau last Saturday. Their time was an excellent 11.46.70, and we are so proud of the progress and success that both boys have made this season. Great job, boys!

Julia Thomson '23 - Varsity Soccer - Julia was not only a part of the defensive back line that helped shut out EA to win the Inter-Ac title, but she has also been a huge part of moving our attack down the field all year long. Julia continues to be focused and solid defensively, and additionally has broken through as a threat on the offense. Her positive attitude and consistency has been very impactful throughout the season. Proud of you, Julia!

Darrion Rascoe '23 - Varsity Football - Darrion had 6 total tackles with 3 for a loss at the nose guard position during this past Saturday’s game vs Episcopal. He has been working extremely hard in practices and games and has emerged in a leadership role on the team as well. Keep up the great work, Darrion!

Blake Jeune '26 - MS Cross Country - Blake has been on the team for three years, and has become a wonderful leader this year! She pushes herself during each practice and race, and sets a great example of how to run both seriously and joyfully at the same time. We wish you a great career in high school, Blake!

Mateo Puntel '28 - MS JV Soccer - Mateo provides essential offensive power and defensive support to hold the MS JV team together. Much credit for our eight wins is owed to Mateo. Since he plays almost every minute of every game, we rely on Mateo to anchor the defense, receive the ball first after every tap, take most direct kicks, take half the corner kicks, and he is our designated penalty kicker. Mateo does all this while providing quiet leadership and showing respect for the game, officials, teammates, coaches, and opponents. Great season Mateo!
