Admissions Events at SCH Academy

WELCOME!

From our Early Childhood Center to our Upper School, SCH Academy offers a variety of admissions events to help you get to know our campus and community. We host Inside SCH open house–style events for all divisions, as well as small group tours for our Early Childhood Center and Lower School.

To register for an event, please begin by completing our inquiry form. The form will allow you to choose from the available event types for your division of interest.

If you have already submitted an inquiry form but have not yet RSVP’d for an event, please contact Maggie Baker in our Admissions Office at 215-247-7007 or mbaker@sch.org, and she will assist you with your registration.

Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with event details from our Admissions Office.

Admissions Events

Early Childhood Center (18 months to 4 years)

Learn more about our Early Childhood Center (ECC) with Director of ECC and Lower School Admissions Kate Caro.

We offer two ways for families to explore SCH’s Early Childhood Center (ECC) and discover our Reggio Emilia–inspired approach to early learning:

1. ECC inside sch Event

ECC Inside SCH for 2026:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 6 | 9:00-10:30 AM

If you’re just beginning to explore the ECC, our fall and spring open house-style events offer an introduction to our program:

Hear from Janet Giovinazzo, Director of the ECC, about our mission and philosophy.
Walk through classrooms to see learning in action.
Gain an overview of our ECC community and our Reggio Emilia approach.

This is a great way to explore our classroom spaces and get the full scope of what makes our Early Childhood program unique.

2. Small Group tours

If you’re ready for a deeper, more personal visit, join one of our small group Tuesday morning tours. Limited to just three families, these sessions:

Allow for personalized conversations with the ECC Admissions Director Kate Caro.
Give you more time to observe classrooms during the school day.
Focus on your child’s needs, your questions, and the details that matter to your family.

If you’re seeking a more individualized experience and want to see the ECC in action, consider registering for a small group tour.

Please note: These tours are designed for adults only. Infants are welcome, but we kindly ask that older children remain at home.

Lower School (pre-k to 4th grades)

Learn more about our Lower School with Director of ECC and Lower School Admissions Kate Caro and our Lower School team. Parents & students will tour the Lower School classrooms as well as the outside areas, playgrounds, and adjacent fields. We offer two unique opportunities for families to experience SCH’s Lower School (Grades Pre-K–4) and learn how we inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Lower School Inside SCH dates for 2026:

These Lower School Inside SCH events are designed to give you an introduction to our Lower School, signature programs, and get a feel for our community. During this event, you will:

Meet our division leadership and faculty.
Learn about our single-sex approach, curriculum, and our signature programs.
See how our campus and facilities support hands-on, interdisciplinary learning.
Go on a "highlight reel tour" where you will visit a few classrooms and see key Lower School spaces.

It’s a great way to get the full scope of what makes the SCH Lower School experience exceptional.

2. Small Group tours | A closer Look

For a more personalized visit, join a small group tour, offered on select Friday mornings. These tours are limited to three families and will:

Allow for a personalized conversation with Lower School Admissions Director Kate Caro as you tour the entire lower school campus.
Allow you to observe classes in session and see learning in real time.
Offer space for your specific questions and interests directed for Kate Caro.

If you want a more individualized approach and the chance to explore how SCH can meet your child’s needs, small group tours are a good option.

Learn more about our Middle School with Associate Director of Middle School Admissions Lauryn Parker and our Middle School team. Parents & students will tour the Middle School classrooms as well as the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, cafeteria, auditorium, gyms, and adjacent fields.

The Middle School Inside SCH will start in the lobby of the Middle School: 8000 Cherokee Street, Philadelphia. You will be greeted by our Middle School administration & the admissions team (Thornely Middle School Building, #6 on the campus map).
